Tell us a little about yourself, what interests you about the paranormal?

I Love all things paranormal!

I have been interested since I was a young boy and as I got older my interest grew. I was lucky enough to grow up watching Most Haunted (before it changed and became too much of an entertainment show). We still use their shows to research venues and get an idea of the lay outs before visits.

What is your favourite piece of equipment, and how do you like to use it?

At SGS we use loads of different equipment but I think my favorite is the K2 Meter. Our K2 Meters have been updated so they flash and make a sound so you can use them as an audio and visual investigation technique.

I also like to use a camera or video camera to capture evidence. Its great that we have our own experiences but if we are able to capture and record them and show them as evidence it help people buy into what we are trying to achieve spending time in these historic locations.

What location gave you the best recorded evidence of paranormal events, and what did you catch?

My best location to date for evidence is The Galleries of justice in Nottingham. We have investigated the Galleries a number of times but this time we able to witness a growl and a voice in real time and capture it on our voice recorders.

We investigated the Galleries in small numbers so we were able to investigate in groups of 2 which really enhanced the experience and I believe investigating this way was the reason we were able to get such great results

What advice would you give to anyone who is interested in investigating the paranormal?

My advice to anyone starting out is to be open minded and approach any event with a clear understanding on what you would like to get out of the evening. For me it’s not always about having loads of experience or loads of equipment, sometimes the best piece for equipment is yourself and the attitude you approach the investigation with.
