The Nunnery

The Nunnery was built in 1879 by The Community of the Holy Name and was reported to hold as many as 250 nuns in residence at one time. For nearly 100 years this purpose built Nunnery housed nuns and evens boasts its very own chapel which still stands today. Sadly, the nunnery ran into some financial issues and with the intake of nuns at an all time low, the doors were closed with the remaining sisters moving to a smaller Nunnery in Derbyshire.

Despite the building being used since its closure, no structural changes took place meaning the moment you open the doors you get a real sense of how things would have been back in the day.

With the labyrinth of corridors, accommodation block, Chapel and massive cellars, we are surely in for an interesting night as we attempt to try a give answers to the countless unexplained reports of paranormal activity over the years.

The sounds of chanting has been reported on many occasions from voices yet to be discovered. As we walk the maze of corridors will be encounter the whispers and unexplained noises countless people have witnessed in this amazing building?

This venue is a ghost hunters dream and is one for the most hardened of investigators due to the lack of electricity and comforts you normal find at other locations.
